United for Nature: our commitment, your future
Protecting the environment and implementing sustainable development objectives
Our establishment, located in the heart of the Landes forest and bordered by the endless beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, benefits from an exceptional environment. Aware of the richness of this natural setting, our 5-star hotel is increasingly committed each year to a responsible approach aimed at protecting and enhancing the jewels that make up the beauty of our site.
This commitment is based on a deep conviction: that of reducing our ecological footprint while integrating harmoniously into our natural environment. We firmly believe that it is essential to preserve this unique estate for future generations, by adopting sustainable development practices that respect and protect the surrounding natural environment.

Eco-designed mobile homes: the future of sustainable development
90% of our rental properties are made from recycled, renewable and energy-efficient materials.
We undertook a review of our environmental impact and decided to focus our efforts on our furnished accommodation. After an in-depth analysis of their life cycles, it became clear that we could improve our ethical approach. Today, we are proud to announce that 90% of our properties are eco-designed, demonstrating our commitment to sound construction.
Our homes are made from recycled and renewable materials, guaranteeing a reduced environmental footprint. From the structure to the use of raw materials, every aspect of their design has been thought through to maximise energy efficiency. What's more, these homes are designed to last and to be fully recyclable at the end of their life, reinforcing our commitment to a future that is more respectful of the eco-system.

Building for the future: the magic of sustainable design
Analysis of mobile home life cycles to reduce their environmental impact
The mapping of the life phases of our mobile homes highlights our involvement in reducing environmental impact. The frame of our mobile homes is made exclusively from natural raw materials, with plant-based wool insulation and wood from eco-managed forests. In addition, our furnishings include mattresses made from foam derived from recycled water bottles, underlining our commitment to sustainable materials.
When renewing our equipment, we choose to optimise our carbon footprint by sourcing locally. Our mattresses and covers come from a supplier located just three quarters of an hour's drive away, supporting the local economy of the Landes region while respecting a short supply chain approach. Thanks to the exceptional quality of these washable mattresses, their lifespan is extended by six years, without compromising comfort, reinforcing our commitment to greater sustainability.

A green alliance with the Eco Mobil-Home partnership
Management and recycling of end-of-life mobile homes
We have meticulously selected the materials used in our structures to combat future impacts. We have also taken care to extend this commitment to sustainable development throughout the life cycle of our equipment, including the framework of our outdoor chalets. From design to end of life, our priority is to reduce our ecological footprint. That's why we've been proud to work for many years with Eco Mobil-Home, a company that specialises in recycling mobile homes at the end of their useful life.
Eco Mobil-Home takes care of our homes that are due to be replaced, recovering the waste generated by recycling the materials or reusing them in other structures. By working with this partner, we are strengthening our ties with the surrounding area and contributing to sustainable development. Our collaboration with partners such as Eco Mobil-Home illustrates our desire to promote initiatives that are humane and respectful of nature, helping to make our Village Resort & Spa a unique and exceptional place, while innovating to support our planet.

Training to transform: raising our team's ecological awareness
Training seasonal workers in green practices and distributing a welcome booklet on our environmental policy
We place the environment at the heart of our daily concerns by involving all our staff in our green movement. At the start of each season, we take the opportunity to train our seasonal workers in our eco-responsible practices. This training includes explanations on the eco-gestures to adopt and the good environmental reflexes to integrate into their work.
To accompany this awareness-raising, we distribute to each member of our team a welcome booklet detailing our environmental strategy. By involving our staff in this green initiative, we also hope to encourage our travellers to adopt environmentally-friendly behaviour. Being aware of environmental issues is one thing, but being able to put them into practice immediately is quite another, and we're determined to make this transition easier.

Zero waste, zero worries: adopt our ecological kit
We offer zero-waste welcome kits (a box designed and printed in France, using recycled and recyclable cardboard) in each of our rentals, to encourage our visitors to adopt environmentally-friendly practices. These kits are designed to raise our guests' awareness of sustainable practices and minimise the waste generated during their stay. The contents of the box have been carefully assembled by an Etablissement et Service d'Aide par le Travail (ESAT) in Hauts-de-France, guaranteeing local know-how and a socially responsible approach.
Inside you'll find
- Two biodegradable bin liners for easy waste sorting and management
- A multi-purpose sponge with a cleaning section and a natural scraper
- A pod of ecological multi-surface cleaner (cleans, degreases, removes stains and leaves a fresh scent), made from 97% natural ingredients, with no preservatives or allergens, to protect users' health.
- A roll of toilet paper and an eco-labelled multi-purpose cloth
- 30 ml of hair and body gel, dye-free, paraben-free and pH-neutral
- A reusable coffee filter for machines that use ground coffee
As part of our hospitality policy, we are making this range of eco-responsible equipment available. This initiative aims to minimise the use of polluting packaging and utensils, while promoting healthier choices for the planet.

Celebrate the Earth: take part in our environmental days
Nature conservation awareness and action activities, tree planting and beach clean-ups
The Environmental Days are a key event organised for all our campers, aimed at raising awareness of the importance of preserving nature. The programme includes engaging activities such as pine tree planting, as well as clean-up operations on the beach accessible from the site and along the surrounding cycle paths. These initiatives allow participants to make a real connection with their environment while having fun.
These actions, which are both educational and fun, help to raise the ecological awareness of summer visitors and promote more sustainable holidays. By taking part in these days, everyone can make a significant difference to the preservation of our planet, making your stay with us unique, but also respectful of natural resources.

European Eco-label: rewarding our ecological efforts
Awarded this label in 2011, guaranteeing low environmental impact
Since 2011, Le Vieux Port campsite has been proud to hold the European Eco-Label a guarantee of our commitment to minimal environmental impact. This label, which is the only one to be recognised in all countries of the European Union, certifies that we comply with strict sustainability criteria. We strive to reduce our energy and water consumption, manage our waste efficiently and use renewable energy. In addition, we educate our customers about supporting nature, reflecting our desire to preserve our natural surroundings while offering the best possible quality of service.
With this in mind, we have stepped up our reforestation efforts. In 2022, we will have planted 1,350 fir trees and 264 pine trees, followed by a further 200 pine trees in 2024. To ensure the sustainability of these initiatives, we are working with the Office National des Forêts (ONF) to carry out a study of our (re)planting activities. At the same time, we are enriching the local flora by introducing native species such as broom, heather, acacia and tamarisk. These efforts aim to enhance the biodiversity of the Landes forest, delighting all lovers of beautiful landscapes.

At the cutting edge of ecology: renewable energy by the sea
Use of renewable energy, such as solar panels for electricity and water heating.
We are committed to providing all our guests with quality services while reducing our environmental impact. We use renewable energy sources, such as solar panels, to produce electricity and heat water, which contributes to our ecological approach. Our attention to preserving our natural surroundings has been recognised by the award of the European Eco-Label, an official label since 2005 that distinguishes campsites that respect strict environmental criteria.
Today, we are proud to maintain this certification, which aims to identify establishments committed to sustainable management. We meet the requirements of the Eco-Label by minimising our electricity and liquid consumption, managing our waste efficiently and using less harmful substances. In addition, we work to improve the local living environment and raise our guests' awareness of the importance of nature, thus consolidating our commitment to sustainable ecotourism.

Saving water and energy: our commitment for tomorrow
Installing energy-saving devices in infrastructures
Because we're located in the heart of the maritime pines and close to the ocean, we're taking concrete action. Every year, we install more water-saving devices, such as mixer taps with flow control, in the washrooms of all our residences. This initiative is designed to meet the expectations of holidaymakers who are concerned about our biosphere, while improving the quality of their stay.
Our commitment to preserving the macrocosm is at the heart of our business. By reducing our environmental impact, we want to help safeguard this unique ecosystem. This investment in sustainable solutions also responds to the desires of our customers, who are looking for rejuvenating holidays in the heart of the seaside resort countryside and appreciate quality services.

Preserving the ecosystem is at the heart of our values
Planting local species to enrich the natural environment
As part of our commitment to preserving the environment, we make it a point of honour to maintain the green lung that surrounds us. In 2022, we will have planted 1,350 fir trees and 264 pine trees, followed by a further 200 pine trees in 2024. These actions are part of a sustainable development approach, and we are currently working with the Office National des Forêts (ONF) to guarantee the sustainability of our (re)planting efforts.
By enriching our Landes forest every year, we are also taking care to preserve the local flora. We are committed to planting native species such as broom, heather, acacia and tamarisk. These initiatives not only benefit the ecosystem, they also delight lovers of beautiful scenery who can appreciate the diversity and beauty of our natural biotope.
